Dear friends --

Wayfarer has ceased publication. Number Thirty-Eight was our last issue.

This came as a surprise. A lot of serials are unfinished -- Dark Vision, Child Of Vengeance, and The Invasion Of The Channyfor, to name the largest. A few other really nice pieces were poised in production, but now they will not appear ... not in these pages, anyway.

The story behind it is thus: The print shop I've worked at for 19 years is closing. I'd been printing Wayfarer there myself, and the increased effort of outsourcing the production is the surface reason for my decision to shut it down. But you deserve the fuller truth: Wayfarer simply takes too much time on my part. Contributors and subscribers have diminished to the barest imaginable trickle. I take the blame for not publicizing and marketing. But the fact is, I've been practically "all alone" in this thing for some time. Losing my job -- losing the printing & bindery source to produce Wayf -- is simply the straw on the camel.

Will Wayfarer ever resume? I have to say, honestly, I seriously doubt it. Life just doesn't unfold that way. But, anything is possible, right?

Thank you all for your support for this endeavor. Despite the abrupt end, I think Wayfarer was a success! We had a lot of wonderful content, and I enjoyed all of it. I hope you did, too.
